got a few questions for you fellas. you seem to all know what you're doing.
ive got a Sony trv240 digital handycam.
ive uploaded a few clips via USB with Premiere 6, but there's no sound what's the problem?
would it be a good idea for me to get one of those tv cards with video in? is the quality better than usb?
and where can i find a good tutorial (online?) for Premire? ive done some editing before, but with far less complex programs.
can anyone help me?

stop staring for a start :-D
my advice for hassle free editing would be to use all DV and software codecs.
if the Sony cam is not DV you can get a box, like the Dazzle, which converts analog signals to DV - costs a couple of hundred quid though and flakes out if the video sync signal is not strong enough (ie no TBC)
an add-in DV card (or FireWire or i.Link or IEEE1394) will cost you around 50 quid i would guess. it's been a long time since i've done any shopping ;-)

USB ver 1.1 and 2.0 is not considerd a proper format for transfering video files( except maybe if they're ziped).I'd say, stay with firewire and take a look at pricewatch.com if you looking for good hardware deals.
